A South African flag was projected on the DHL Stadium ahead of the Castle Lager Rugby Championship clash between Rugby World Cup champions Springboks and New Zealand.

A South African flag was projected on the DHL Stadium ahead of the Castle Lager Rugby Championship clash between Rugby World Cup champions Springboks and New Zealand.

The six-metre by six-metre flag stands at eight metres high and was projected near the stadium's main entrance facing Signal Hill from 21:00 until midnight on Friday.

It will be up again tonight, Friday, 6 September 2024, from 19:00 until midnight.

The flag project will also be visible after the game on Saturday from 19:00 until midnight.

The gesture also signals all systems go for the DHL Stadium and the City of Cape Town ahead of the monumental game.

'Cape Town is a city united in pride and excitement as we prepare to host our world champion Bokke for this historic clash against our greatest rivals. To support this major event, the City is pleased to announce an expanded and free MyCiTi shuttle service for spectators from Century City, UCT, CTICC, Thibault Square and Civic Centre stations on Saturday,' said Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis.
